Multimedia exhibition

Jul 10, 2025 | Future Stories from the Past

Today, on July 11, it is exactly thirty years since the fall of the Srebrenica enclave.
We draw attention to the multimedia exhibition 11 Voices from Srebrenica, a project about remembrance, recognition, and the perspective of survivors.

In 11 Voices from Srebrenica, the survivors’ perspective is finally heard.
Thirty years after the genocide, Bosnian Dutch people — survivors, children of the missing, and bereaved families — share their personal stories. Photographer Robin de Puy portrayed eleven of them in words and images.

The exhibition, on view at the former Kamp Vught, is part of a broader multimedia project, including a podcast series, articles in national newspapers, and an exhibition at FOTODOK. Together, these voices open up a perspective that has been missing from the public narrative for many years.

While the Netherlands has often focused on Dutchbat and political accountability, the people most directly affected were rarely heard. This series changes that — creating space for mourning, memory, and recognition.
