Following a successful premiere of Tina Farifteh’s installation When I Saw the Sun and the Moon at the Same Time at BredaPhoto Festival 2024, the piece has now been acquired by the Fries Museum in Leeuwarden. A special museum version has been developed and will be on view starting 25 May 2025.
The video and light art installation is part of Tina in Sexbierum — a transmedia project produced by Prospector, about displacement, detachment, the longing for a home, and the simultaneous inability to feel at home in a society that continually rejects one’s existence. In the work, supported by Forhanna, Farifteh asks both herself and the viewer: ‘If society offers no home, might the landscape provide a place for the displaced?’
Artist talks are organised by FotoFabryk in collaboration with dbieb, and will take place on Thursday, 19 June 2025, at dbieb in Leeuwarden. Moderator Gitte Brugman will engage in conversation with the artist about her work and vision.
