On Monday, 3 february 2025, the research report ‘Photography and the Cultural Monitor’ was presented by researcher Marc Prüst at Pakhuis De Zwijger in Amsterdam.
This report is the result of extensive research into the possibilities of giving photography a structural place in the Cultural Monitor of the Boekmanstichting.
Forhanna contributed to the realisation of this research and the publication of the report.
The report was presented to the Boekmanstichting during the event, marking an important step in recognising photography as a full-fledged discipline within the Dutch cultural system. For the first time, it offers a quantitative and analytical overview of the photographic sector in the Netherlands, with a specific focus on the cultural sub-sector.
The significance of this report extends beyond this single publication. It serves as a potential prelude to the development of an annual Photography Monitor, which can systematically map the sector in the future and promote broader recognition.
