After winning the ‘Gouden Kalf Award for best Short Movie at the Netherlands film days, Osepa now shows La Ultima Ascension at the Boijmans van Beuningen Museum of Art in Rotterdam.
The film is the first intervention in ‘Unpacking Boijmans’ and looks at the influence of the precolonial past of the island on the postcolonial Curaçao of today with an intimate portrait about mourning and healing.
The Unpacking Boijmans research project is presented in a room in Depot Boijmans Van Beuningen and over the next six months it will deal with themes within the colonial and slavery past: trade, image formation, and collection and exhibition history.
