Forhanna brings the multimedia project of photographer Çiğdem Yüksel to your attention. Her solo exhibition, scheduled for September 2024 at the Nederlands Fotomuseum in Rotterdam, is accompanied by a photo book that needs to be created now.
Çiğdem has documented the diverse stories of the first generation Turkish women in the Netherlands, including interviews, photos, and portraits.
The book highlights the resilience of these women who, despite resistance and challenges, created a warm home and a safe place. An attempt by the artist to make this invisible history visible.
